Performance Springs Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of Phil Turner in the role of Technical Manager. Phil’s responsibilities will include maintaining and developing technical excellence in all aspects of the company’s operations.
Phil’s career in the spring industry spans nearly two decades. He joined United Springs as a Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Apprentice in 1999. After successful completion of his Apprenticeship, he qualified as a highly skilled, Auto-Coil Spring Maker. Promotion to Auto-Coil Charge Hand soon followed, giving Phil the opportunity to develop skills in achieving production targets by designing improved processes to aid production flow. After only two years as Auto-Coil Charge Hand, Phil was further promoted to Auto-Coil Team Leader with responsibility for a team of 22 people. In 2016, Phil accepted additional responsibility for two other departments and added the Wire Forming Team and Heat Stabilization Team to his portfolio.
“Phil is a formidable asset to the Performance Springs Team”, says Managing Director, Adrian May. “Having a proven track record in production and process improvements, he will take responsibility for providing technical support from initial enquiry through to series production. Having had the pleasure of working with Phil previously, I know that his drive, focus and total commitment to any project he’s working on will result in measurable improvements to the company. It’s fantastic that he’s joined the Team”, Adrian concludes.
